The brilliant brain anatomist who had a stroke and experienced right hemisphere consciousness without any inhibition from the left hemisphere which was completely off line due to the stroke
Simeon I have a logistics question. I am a member of your Patreon but I noticed it is possible to upgrade to a payed platform here in Substack. If a person wants to support, what is the best way?
Hi, Brad! Patreon remains the best way to support my work and connect with the community; there's also has a lot of exclusive content there already, so you get much more value for your support on Patreon. To be honest, I am still figuring out how to best manage paid subscriptions on Substack... Thank you so much for your support!
Thank you for this wisdom, Simeon; it is very pertinent to my every day. I've noticed that I can only become "frustrated" if I'm working on a project to "just get it done" or if, while working, I'm lost in my thoughts, blind to the miraculous "now" and imagining some other "problem" that I "must" solve. Frustration never seems to arise when I'm in the mindfulness "zone" of the eternal now and just savoring the experience of being while doing.
I appreciate your thoughts, Tom. It became obvious to me at some point that my unhealthy relationship with work ("Be a good boy and get as much done as you can!") is robbing me of life. Now, I'm slowly orienting towards a different attitude, to that eternal now of which you speak, and it makes a world of difference to the quality of my life and my relationships. The reflection I shared above is a fragment from that ongoing process.
An engaging substack presence, Simeon, appealing and thougtful as expected -- thank you for this additional way to enjoy your warm, wise work.
Thank you, Catharine! I do enjoy this platform, and I see it as a way to further develop as a writer. I am grateful for your support!
The depth of your journey and your ability to communicate clearly are remarkable it’s an honor to discover you and learn from you

Thank you for this fascinating suggestion, Michael! I have not heard of Dr Taylor, will look him up now.
