Reading your articles about the teachings of the Buddha, I did wonder how comes and you refer to 'gods'. My thought too was that it must have been because of the cultural background of His event, as you say here "the old gods as serving our new master". But I also find the second thought I had in your words: "patterns of causal manifestation". Indeed I thought, these 'gods' must refer to divine attributes. But beyond such considerations, I have another suggestion due to the faith I have in the teachings of Meher Baba: I take it that for for Siddhartha to become realized as the Buddha, the five Perfect Masters of his time undertook the duty and care of this transition. In the case of Jesus we know of St. John the Baptist, but there must have been four more Perfect Masters that the Gospels do not mention. So I thought that maybe in the transmission of the Buddhas historical life, these Masters have simply been described as "gods", and not too unrightly so, because they are conscious of being God and have followers and disciples that know it too. Of course I do follow the rest of your Jungian reasoning about it and it is quite enlightening.

Thank you Simeon B. Mihaylov. Your voice is gentle & soft...rare in this part of the world. The force of love & humility. I was born & educated in Jung's country. If you lived near, I would love to share a pot of tea with you. Wondering if you live somewhere beautiful - surrounded by Nature ?
