Yes I think it would be very useful and beneficial to many

I think it sounds promising and I would give it a try, together with Robert A. Johnson''s

"Owning Your Own Shadow" (when I find the time). Promoting on Amazon would be a good idea.

Thank you for commenting, my friend! “Owning Your Own Shadow“ is a fantastic read. As is “Meeting the Shadow“, which is more comprehensive, featuring 50+ authors. I highly recommend it.

Yes. Of course. I hope it will cover the dream world. The dreams I have are nothing like the Awareness I am awre of during waking state. I hope it will show me how to bridge the gap.

Thank you for the suggestion, Sudershan!

I would gladly pay 50 euro for such a workbook. 15 is too little. You are doing valuable work that many people are not capable of undertaking, and I would hate to see you undervalue your effort... 50 feels like a serious but defendable price. I'm sure if you produce something of quality you would also see that 15 is undervalued. You will decide ultimately what feels right.

I think a good format would be to release the book in chapters, on a weekly basis, so that we could take it seriously and actually engage with it, instead of receiving one big block of a resource that we don't know what to do with and start it and then leave it. Released through chapters sounds best, like an old Dickens novel... Guide us through.

I think your role as a "synthesizer" could be greatly expressed here.

Thank you for the suggestions and encouragement, brother! Will strive to make this as useful as I can.

Yes, Simeon, I would definitely use your workbook. I have tremendous admiration and respect for

the depth of your knowledge and commitment, and ability, humility, and sincerity. I'm in a Jungian group, and I'll tell the group about this.

I appreciate all your kind words, Ed, and your willingness to share about the workbook with your group! Thank you for the support!

Yes I would be interested, and I wonder if you could show what type of shadow tends to show up at the different developmental stages, and then, what type(s) of process is most helpful for that stage of shadow. In my experience different parts in seem to be at different stages of development so I find this helpful. (and by stages I mean the likes of Ken Willber and Terri O'Fellon's developmental maps). Feel free to message me as I could send you some material that might be helpful for your project... Thanks!

That's a very interesting and valuable suggestion, Jasmine, thank you! Will message you for some aid with this indeed :)

A fine project, Simeon -- yes, I would make good use of this workbook. And many others would find it inviting too. (fyi, in North America today 15 euros = US 18 and Canadian dollars 25).

Please include how we can identify which shadow elements need our focused personal attention -- some of the darkest inner forces forces that I tend to project outwardly have been hard to accept as actually mirroring my own depths -- ego does its best to deny that!

I'm confident you'll also include how to reach out for expert support, of course, concurrent to the journaling if need be.

These are some very valuable suggestions and reflections, Catharine, as always :) Thank you!

Yes! Just no AI please 😩

Yes, I would build this into my regular journaling time. Shadow work is immensely difficult since ego is very protective. I've become familiar with shadow aspects as they appear in dream states, yet still remain distanced. Thank you, Simeon. The only thing missing from the workbook would be your wonderful voice.

Simeon B. Mihaylov's avatar

Thank you for commenting, Corinne! It is difficult and slippery work, indeed...

I love Substack for showing me creators like you. I just started digging into your work and see so many similarities to mine.

My second book NOX was about shadow work - 700 pages of pure complexity 😅 - so I think a short workbook is way more accessible for people! You should definitely do it!

Thank you for commenting, Atmos! And wow, 700 pages on shadow work... I'd be happy to explore your writing as well :)
