‘When Banzan was walking through a market he overheard a conversation between a butcher and his customer.
‘“Give me the best piece of meat you have,” said the customer.
‘“Everything in my shop is the best,” replied the butcher. “You cannot find here any piece of meat that is not the best.”
‘At these words Banzan became enlightened.’
As we search for ‘better‘ (even for ‘the best’) in life, we continually sever our relationship with the present moment. Our mind’s projection of ‘what could be’ obscures the perfection of what is. This is how we perpetuate our own state of dissatisfaction.
Today, I invite you to pay extra attention to the ordinary, ‘insignificant’ moments of your day. Let your awareness embrace these without prejudice and without expectation.
Consider that peace and fulfillment may not be something you are supposed to attain - they may be what remains once the effort to attain dissolves.
May we taste of the best piece,
Simeon
Is Santa Real? | Carl Jung & Buddha on Reality
What makes something real? Is it what we can see, touch, and measure—or something deeper?
When 10-year-old Alexy dismissed Santa Claus as a myth, I turned to Carl Jung and the Buddha for help. Their wisdom led me to surprising insights into existence, belief, and how our minds shape reality.
I invite you to join me on this philosophical quest to save Santa! 🎅
